Our Meals & Nutrition

We know that good nutrition contributes to effective learning in children. Numerous studies have demonstrated that eating breakfast regularly will boost your child's ability to learn, to think quickly, to pay attention and even to get along with others. One recent study on childhood nutrition found that those who eat breakfast raise their math grades and improve their school attendance records. Children who regularly have breakfast or AM snack in the morning solve problems more easily and are less likely to be restless or irritable before lunch. Other studies indicate that skipping breakfast or AM snack has a negative effect on attentiveness, verbal fluency, memory and the brain's ability to make use of new information.

Our child nutrition program includes healthy choices for the development of young children. Each meal is nutritionally balanced and meets requirements regarding food components and portion size.

We provide an AM snack and an PM snack daily; Parents are responsible for providing a nutritious lunch. Our center does not heat or refrigerate children’s lunches. Please provide your child with a thermos to keep food warm and an ice pack to keep drinks cold. Please heat the food and then put inside the thermos and close it, food will stay nice and warm until lunchtime. Please avoid foods that are considered choking hazards; Slim Jims, candy, whole apples, grapes or fruit, anything that is too large or hard to digest. All meat and large food should be cut in bite size pieces.

Also please be aware that we do not provide lunch at this facility only breakfast and PM snack. Parents will be required to send their child to school with a bagged lunch for the day. Attached is our meal schedule for the month. Thank you.
